Certified & Senior Wine Judge

Would you like to learn how to judge wine, or how to organize and manage a wine competition? This is your opportunity. The Guild offers this Certified Wine Judge course twice a year to train individuals interested in learning how to be a wine judge.

The course will cover

• The complete judging process
• Event organization and management
• Preparation for an event (if you are a judge)
• Scoring systems for judging wine and wine and food pairing events
• Grape and fruit wine judging
• Dealing with fatigue and common scoring errors
• Wine and food pairing judging
• Understanding amateur vs. professional events

Prerequisites:

To take the Guild Certified Wine Judge course you must have successfully complete both the Advanced Wine Course and the Advanced Wine and Food Pairing Course.

Certified Senior Wine Judge

The Senior Wine Judge Program is designed to prepare you to judge:

• Wine and Food Pairing Competitions
• Guild Senior Program Sommelier evaluations

To take the Certified Senior Wine Judge course you must have completed the Certified Wine Judge Course. Contact the Guild for dates and times for this certification.
