Wine in the ancient world was a critical part of the economy and recognized as a major “civilizing” influence.
This is a required course for the Level III Certification. If you would like to take a detailed, technical course on the Ancient World of Wine you can take this course without being a Level III student. However, we strongly recommend that you first take the Guild Certification Seminar before attempting a Level III course.
You may be enrolled in our Level II Certification and concurrently take Level III courses.

This course is available in two formats:
The 12-week course meets from 6:00PM to 10:00PM once a week for a total of 48 contact hours. Course tuition and fees are $1900. Cost of the course includes registration fees, handouts, wine, period wine dinner and instruction.
The 1-week intensive study course meets from 8:00AM to 5:30PM daily, Monday through Friday, for a total of 48 contact hours. Course tuition and fees are $1975. Cost of the course includes registration fees, handouts, wine, lunch each day, period wine dinner and instruction. There is no difference in course content and instruction between the 11-week and 1-week courses.

If for any reason a class is canceled we will phone or e-mail you 48 hours prior to the start of the class. If a class is canceled at the last minute due to bad weather (this is very rare) we will reschedule the class. However, if a class is held and you decide not to attend because you believe the weather is bad than it will be treated as a no-show. It is highly recommended that you register early, your credit card will not be charged until seven days in advance of the course. We must have a minimum students registered in order to form a course. If you are traveling from out of town to attend, please do not make arrangements until two weeks in advance of the course.
