The first level Guild certification seminar presents old-world and new-world wine, fortified wines, tasting exercises, descriptive and comparative evaluation techniques, as well as wine and food pairing. Successfully complete the written exam to become a member of the International Wine Guild! This is an introductory course of study designed for individuals who desire to learn about wine. It is open to all who wish to develop a basic knowledge of wine, wine evaluation and wine description and does not require that individuals be employed in the wine or food service industries.
Registration for the seminar includes 150 pages of hand-out materials especially developed for this seminar, and lunch provided on Sunday.. Participants will taste more than 28 wines.

Because we purchase wines and food based on the number of registrants, no-shows are charged a non-refundable fee equal to $250, per person, unless other arrangements are made at least 5 working days in advance of the seminar.
If for any reason a class is cancelled we will phone or e-mail you 48 hours prior to the start of the class. If a class is cancelled at the last minute due to bad weather (this is very rare) we will reschedule the class. However, if a class is held and you decide not to attend because you believe the weather is bad than it will be treated as a no-show.
